Solon Recreation Center

The owner wanted a 7800 SY addition to an 8400 SY existing parking lot. The 8400 SY lot was placed 2 years ago with a 3” base and this year we placed the 2” HMA surface. The 7800 SY lot constructed this year consisted of 2000 LF of curb and gutter and 2200 TON of HMA pavement it also included approx 1500 CY of excavation. The 8400 SY Lot consisted of 950 Tons of a 2” HMA surface. After the surface layer was complete on both lots we striped 11,200 LF of pavement markings for parking stalls.
Batting Cages

To eliminate standing water in the University of Iowa Women’s softball batting cages, we chose to go with a clean stone and 4” of open drainage layer (popcorn mix) asphalt. This allowed the water to drain through the artificial grass then through the porous asphalt and out a tile system. The end result was new batting cages with asphalt that prevented standing water.
