Community Service

LL Pelling employees are actively involved in enhancing the communities where they work and live. Our involvement includes striving to be a good neighbor to those who live near our facilities and those who might be temporarily inconvenienced by the construction activity of our crews. We are also involved by monetarily supporting many local, state and national charities. We give our time and materials to worthy causes that are near and dear to us by rallying the support of our vendors, subcontractors, employees, friends and family.

For many years we have been proud sponsors of the Special Olympics of Iowa fundraisers. LL Pelling employees also volunteer time to help administer the Special Olympics of Iowa Mid Winter Tournaments each year. Supporting the athletes and their families has been a rewarding experience for our company. The Iowa Children’s Museum sponsors a special day for children each year at the Johnson Co. Fairgrounds called “Move It, Dig It, Do It”. Children are allowed to get up close to the equipment that fascinates them. LL Pelling has volunteered an asphalt paver, roller and dump truck, in addition to our employees who show the children around the equipment. It’s a great day for everyone involved!

LL Pelling also contributes to the academic lives of local students. We are part of the Iowa Dollars for Scholars, Named Scholarships of Mount Mercy College and Kirkwood Community College, to name a few. Alongside the Asphalt Paving Association of Iowa we have contributed to the University of Iowa College of Engineering for the purchase of Asphalt Technology teaching equipment. LL Pelling realizes that contributing to the education of local Iowa students helps insure a bright future for the students and our state.

Nationally we support the United Way, Habitat for Humanity, March of Dimes , and the American Heart Association.
